What Stands Out About College?

When I think about college the size and difficulty of it really stand out. The campus is huge and holds over thousands of students. All of the space makes me feel like an ant in a world full of skyscrapers. College is kind of strenuous and will push your brain to the limit. It is filled with nothing but papers, papers, papers, and occasionally sleep if you every make it to that point.

  1. What you are saying is very true about college, especially one as large as UT. There are approximately 28,000 students here and it can be very easy to get lost in the "sea of orange". There are even fewer African American students, so make sure you treasure your friendships with the students here in your class and the UT Lead program. They are a part of your cohort and will be your support system when you are having difficulties with adjusting or the other stresses of college life.

Also, you will be able to get plenty of sleep as a college student...TRUST ME! But you do have to prioritize. You must find time to rest and sleep and eat and exercise so that you stay healthy and better able to handle life as a college student. But I am confident you will do just fine!
